You got there in the end
I resisted the urge to repeat my first comment about this song... I don't think I should undermine your beautiful song with an in-joke
I read the info section and it is obvious from that, and from talking to you about the song, how much this woman's story has touched you on a personal level. You should be proud of what you have achieved through your ability to empathise with her and create a song like this.
The feel is obviously very sad, like Bo said, you excell at emotional expression via music.
Great work, as always. I only wish everyone else could realise just how hard you have worked on this song over the last week or so, but I suppose the finished product speaks for itself in terms of quality.
Now... I have a promise to keep...

Dear B, all I can say is you made me remember loneliness as clear as a running stream. I shed a tear as you sing and play this extraordinary song, your honesty to your music is what makes listening so valuable, the emotions tucked away are what you seem to uncover with ease.

Amazing. This song is just amazing. The "tell me who I am" part sends shivers down my spine. you have a knack for writing songs that fit your voice and playing perfectly, and the production on this one particularly is just perfect... Very, very well done! I compared you to ani difranco in another comment,... but forget that,.. your music much better.

I had to come back, & I agree with Dreadraven, the line 'Tell me who I am' is the part where I fall apart for a breatholding second...
And 'I know I shouldn't care' - this line harbours so much understated hurt that is turned away maybe, of course the song is a collection of your responses to reading Julie's story but in writing and performing this beautiful passage of bare expression you have cut into many other areas of human need and failure, and the wounds that lie awake sometimes never sleep soundly. It's haunting.
I think you are doing great things with your talent B, you give us the gift of hearing your heart, & I 2nd Leplume's comment.

yes, yes oh yes..
So i checked this tune the other day but couldnt post a response - surprisingly it wasnt due to the tears and bitter anger that brewed up whilst listening to this song and reading about the inspiration - it was beacause this site was being lame.
I find it hard to believe the amount of hurt and suffering that people on this earth go through. GirlB, you have put to music these feelings far better than i could imagine. I dont want to say too much more about it - i dont believe many more words could put across this point.
Beautiful,haunting,bitter and insightful.
I applaud you.

I read as I listened, and as I was drawn into the tragedy of the story, the song seemed the perfect accompaniment.
Your vocals are absolutely wonderful, so full of the emotion the lyrics convey.
Wonderful.

You have such a way of expressing what you feel through your lyrics and melody, I can tell you worked hard for this. The mood fit perfectly. I was touched by the facts and your music blew me away. Thank you for this song.

I respect you picking on a sad theme like this and writing a song about it. Most of us took for granted the love our parents gave us, so this obviously touched you. Beautiful performance, voice full of warmth and emotion. Chorus really shakes me up.

I can see how a songwriter would feel compelled to tell this woman’s story. I wish I could come up with a stronger word than “compelled”, but that’s as close as I can come right now.
But then, I would’ve “got” the pathos without the backstory, necessarily. Lyrically, the vocals, the starkly simple guitar...it all has a beautiful ache to it.

This is so bloody beautiful and honest. i read the story of Julie first which I guess gave a greater appreciation as to the emotions expressed in your vocal. I know where she is coming from. Love the intimate feeling your voice and your guitar convey. Wow I feel like I just discovered another amazing artist on this site!!! Thankyou for that.

Very powerful song on a sad subject.
An extremely moving vocal performance and a nice warm guitar tone.
A lot of emotion is conveyed and the song moves at it's own pace.
Excellent.

I'm not talkin to you anymore. Man this is so good. but so bad at the same time. Although the tone of this song in some way it makes me very happy I don't know whether to feel guilty or fulfilled about that.
*sniffs* great job honey.

Read the notes:
This woman has a very grabbing story, damn, I never heard 'bout that dizeaze and didn't realised it actually existed! And I'm totally slapped KO, mentally...jee...*sigh
yes, you made me cry!
Your voice expresses as much emotion and sadness as this woman expressed them throughout her story!
I passed the proces of adopting your music Now it's definately a lil' part of me

Brovo! for bringing "awareness" to this community about this!!! i have been on Julies Website. I am glad that awareness has been just thing like their was none in Julies days when one could "convince" doctors to operate without proper diagnosis?. Wow who would think that they would even then?.
A very beautiful song! full of feeling! I hope they make a movie of of this! and this song! could be the opener perhaps. I have been reading the julies website while listening. Thanks for giving me some light tonight!!. Children are some of most beautiful things alive and should have the outmost protection!! I see Julie is really an activist and doing alot of good to make sure Children do not suffer this needless abuse..Thank You
